James Roose-Evans Memorial Lecture
I was invited to give a lecture in memory of the theatre director, author and priest James Roose-Evans at the Bleddfa Centre for the Creative Spirit, which he established.
I’ve never given a lecture before, so this was a novel request for me. I relished the chance to talk about the issues most dear to me, particularly how we can best care for each other and the living world. It helped me to express some ideas that I’ve been ruminating upon for a long time, inspired by other nature guardians and poets. It weaves together two big themes in my life over the last few years: rivers and grief.
Since the talk, a number of people have asked me for the transcript, so I’ve published it on my website here.
